The planned café at TrailStart will be much more than a place to grab a quick drink. We are designing it to be the heartbeat of the building, offering high-quality barista coffee and simple, nourishing food. Most importantly, it will serve as a supervised training pathway for young people who are not currently in education or employment.
Skills for a Brighter Future
We want to help young people gain practical experience in hospitality and customer service. Through hands-on practice, trainees will build the confidence needed to move toward paid work in the wider city. While we cannot promise immediate jobs or accredited certificates, the soft skills and work habits learned here will be invaluable.

Transparency and inclusion are at the core of our café vision. We are planning a Universal Credit concession to ensure that a good cup of coffee and a warm space are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.
